Adrian created DCI in 2016 to address the needs of the overlooked, underserved and low-income communities and give them life while instilling long-standing hope.
Adrian ‘Dray’ Major is the Founder and Executive Director of the Dreamcatcher Initiative (DCI). Adrian has over two decades of experience working to empower communities and their youth, often focusing on formerly incarcerated civilians. In Boston, he is well known for his ability to create lasting change and his long history of bringing people together. Throughout his career, he has worked tirelessly to ensure historically oppressed communities across Boston and greater Boston get what they need to foster lasting relationships with community partners and agencies who want to help out in the community.
Although originally born in Jacksonville, Florida, Adrian considers Boston his home. During his time in Boston, he has worked to put youth at the center of conversations that affect them. His work has always focused on empowerment—from partnering with inner-city youth to start programs like KRUMP United and Boston Clovers to working at residential centers for troubled youth and speaking at town halls on violence in Boston.
